~ “I’m SO much cooler online!” ~

(Just so you know, this is written by me and totally tongue in cheek! I really don’t take myself this seriously!)
Born in Virginia in 1971, Michael Myrick learned the value of hard work at an early age by watching his parents Bill and Mary struggle to raise four children in modest surroundings. Even working two and sometimes three full-time jobs did not deter the Myricks from showing their children love and attention.
Continuing the work ethic he learned by observing his family, Michael excelled in school. He earned several academic awards while still in grade school as well as gaining the interest of several colleges and universities at an early age.
Myrick carried his strong work ethic into his teenage years where he studied American Style Karate and later became an instructor, teaching younger students the fundamentals of self discipline, self control, and strenuous physical workouts.
Michael struggled to find his place in the world through his teen years and into his twenties. Working several different jobs giving him an opportunity to develop a variety of skills, Myrick worked to make the best of his opportunities during that time. While he may have felt he was lost, he was also very determined to find himself.
Myrick was given his first real opportunity at meaningful employment by his Great-Uncle Joe. Joe fostered the then twentysomething Michael and taught him (in Michael’s own words) “Everything I know about work”. Sadly, Joe died in 2004 of complications from cancer and cancer treatments.
Michael Myrick married his wife Brandy in a ceremony in September, 2006 that paid tribute to his cousin Ricky who perished in a plane crash along with nine others in route to the Martinsville, VA race track on October 24, 2004. During the wedding ceremony, both Myrick and his new bride wore flip-flops as a sign of their fond memories of Ricky’s laid-back style and sense of fun.
Myrick later got a tattoo while on his honeymoon in Maui as a lifelong tribute to his cousin Ricky and he has since added additional tribute tattoos.
Myrick is currently Webmaster of his own personal website MichaelMyrick.org that he uses to communicate with friends, family and co-workers as well as share photos and stories of his daily life with the world. He also works full-time in the Automotive Industry where he uses the skills taught to him by his childhood experiences, from watching his parents and through the teachings of his mentor Joe.
When not working, Myrick enjoys listening to music, goofing off on his iPhone, spending time with his wife Brandy along with dogs Lola, Sophia and Buddy and writing about himself in third-person so he sounds cool and important (which he is NOT!).
