2010 Hendrick Motorsports Media Day

Another year goes by, another Media Day comes to Hendrick Motorsports. This is the first year I haven’t been involved in the car production for the Showcar Department, so it all feels a little surreal to me. The media came and went while I happily did my new job managing the Hendrick Heritage Center. No complaints for sure, but I do kind of miss it. Media Day was a chance to show off all my employee’s hard work making the new paint schemes work on new cars, and although it was always a rush, I had the best crew in the world working for me. They always made it happen on time. Those guys were the best of the best. Truly world-class mechanics, fabricators, and body men.

I’m assuming all went well this year, but dang it’s got me feeling nostalgic, so here’s a photo of me with last year’s cars. My final pic like this, with the final group of showcars I managed the construction of for the 2009 Media Day.

Welcome to my online home since 2004. I blog a bit about my life as it happens, my work as I am permitted, and occasional throwback entries. When I'm not writing new posts, I actively curate this blog, improving the wording or adding new media to old posts, and finally finishing old drafts I've left sitting for years. It is not my intention to be a source of news or content. I don’t have anything to sell, and I’m not trying to get likes/shares/follows. This site is an autobiographical effort - imperfections and all. My life, remembered in my words, my way.

When known, I include credit for photos in the captions. Contact me for photo credit or removal. *Side note: If you make one of my Mother's recipes, I'd be happy to post a photo of the finished product in the corresponding post, and give you full photo credit.
