When you go on Facebook, the box where you type a new status says, “What’s on your mind?” So what’s on my mind? I’ll pose it as a series of “what if” questions.

What if there are no exceptional people? What if the smartest one of us is just as flawed as the least intelligent? What if the most moral among us just hides their immorality better than the rest? What if there are no heroes?

I’ll answer – these things are all true. The rich among us are no better than the poor. The highest IQ politician is as fallible as you and I. The pastor is no closer to God than the pew fillers. The famous among us are just like you and me. Money, fame, status, and respect are all illusions. They come and go in the blink of an eye. The good news in all this? You can fill that role you want others to fill. Be your own hero! Be the person you’re looking for outwardly. Do you desire an inspiration? Be the inspiration! There is no one better than you! There is no one in a better position to begin a life-changing movement! There is no one but you who can build the future you want to see. Quit looking to celebrities, politicians, and others. The power is inside YOU!
