Jerry Scarborough

A good friend passed away the other day. Jerry Scarborough taught me a lot about hauling NASCAR showcars. While he and I had wildly different views on some things, I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. Jerry and I logged quite a few thousand miles together through the years, and I owed him for his patience and instruction. I certainly would not be where I am today without him. He, along with Danny Pledger, Robert Thorpe, a few occasional drivers, and I were the backbone of Papa Joe Hendrick’s Showcar Department in the early days. Having seen him recently, I knew Jerry wasn’t doing well, but as good as he looked I didn’t think his time would come so quickly. Farewell my friend. Thank you.

Welcome to my online home since 2004. I blog a bit about my life as it happens, my work as I am permitted, and occasional throwback entries. When I'm not writing new posts, I actively curate this blog, improving the wording or adding new media to old posts, and finally finishing old drafts I've left sitting for years. It is not my intention to be a source of news or content. I don’t have anything to sell, and I’m not trying to get likes/shares/follows. This site is an autobiographical effort - imperfections and all. My life, remembered in my words, my way.
