Mini Tyrrell’s Ricky Hendrick throwback

Amazing young racer Mini Tyrrell has had some really cool paint schemes the last few years. None will ever be as cool to me as his upcoming throwback scheme for the 2021 CARS Tour Throwback 276 at Hickory Motor Speedway on July 31. Announced yesterday, Timmy Tyrrell Racing has picked Ricky Hendrick’s #7 Quaker State Late Model paint scheme we campaigned in 1998 and part of 1999 as their throwback. We scored 4 of Ricky’s 5 Late Model wins with that scheme. Having been on that team, and being so close to Ricky, this tribute means the world to me. I’ve contacted some of the guys that were on that team, and they’ve all been just as excited about this as I am. It’s a great tribute to Ricky, and to know Rick Hendrick has signed off on it makes it a really unique and special thing! I’ll sure be pulling for Mini on the 31st! Welcome to my online home since 2004. I blog a bit about my life as it happens, my work as I am permitted, and occasional throwback entries. When I'm not writing new posts, I actively curate this blog, improving the wording or adding new media to old posts, and finally finishing old drafts I've left sitting for years. It is not my intention to be a source of news or content. I don’t have anything to sell, and I’m not trying to get likes/shares/follows. This site is an autobiographical effort - imperfections and all. My life, remembered in my words, my way.
