My future

Barring something unforeseen, June 1st, 2015 will be my final day at Hendrick Motorsports.

I have had an amazing time working for the Hendrick family through the years. I have so many great memories which I will cherish the rest of my life. I have had fantastic fortune to learn from the best in racing and business, and to have met the most amazing people. To have been a very small part of the most successful racing team in history has been incredible and I have learned many skills that will serve me well in the future. If you have been a part of my time at HMS, I thank you for all you’ve done to help me and I hope to see you over the course of the next six months to say goodbye personally.

This is my decision. I have been thinking of leaving for about two years and I feel now is the right time to do so. The June 1st date allows me time to train my replacement through May race weeks. The position is not “open” and they are not looking for someone to fill it. There is no need for anyone to inquire about it, as there is a plan in place.

My reasons for leaving are simple: Primarily though, I want to help people. I NEED to help people. God has been chasing me for years. I’m tired of running. My intentions are to try to find employment that will pay the bills and allow me to help people and begin the work God lays out for me in my spare time. Spare time that currently just does not exist due to work demands.

While it is difficult to step into the unknown without a plan, leaving behind everything I’ve held dear, I have every expectation God will see me through and make it okay.

Welcome to my online home since 2004. I blog a bit about my life as it happens, my work as I am permitted, and occasional throwback entries. When I'm not writing new posts, I actively curate this blog, improving the wording or adding new media to old posts, and finally finishing old drafts I've left sitting for years. It is not my intention to be a source of news or content. I don’t have anything to sell, and I’m not trying to get likes/shares/follows. This site is an autobiographical effort - imperfections and all. My life, remembered in my words, my way.
