Sophia’s lymph nodes have ballooned in size overnight and she’s running a 103.8 temp. Our Vet gave her an injection to try to help. She has chemo tomorrow morning. Barring a miracle, we’ll be saying goodbye to our littlest girl very soon.
That’s the technical part. The part I can’t convey is how good she looks. She’s had the most energy and personality for the last week. It’s been great to see her running and playing like she has. It’s hard to rationalize this vibrant doggie is in such bad shape. We’re going to have a hard decision to make soon, but ideally, she’ll feel really great like she does right now, go to sleep, then wake up in doggie Heaven. We cannot allow her to feel any more pain than she’s already seen in her life. As hard as it is to let her go, that’s the part that makes it easier. She survived hell on Earth. She changed our lives for the better. The least we can do is keep her from having another single bad day.
