A few months ago, we were treated to a private showing at the premier of Together: The Hendrick Motorsports Story, at Ovens Auditorium here in Charlotte. An amazingly well told movie by Director Rory Karpf, it was extremely emotional for those of us who lived through the story. To be in that venue with all of those family, friends, and coworkers, watching our story on screen was a bit overwhelming. I understand it will eventually be released on DVD, so find a copy if you have any interest in Hendrick Motorsports. It tells a story rarely seen anywhere else, and gives a whole new perspective of what the Hendrick family and team went through before, during, and after the plane crash.
To see so many of my friends and family who are no longer with us was heart-wrenching, but the film also serves as a great tribute. Not to mention spotting the names of all my coworkers in the credits, and knowing so many of them have supported and taught me through the years was especially touching. It was also a surreal experience to see the names of my dad and wife along with my own in the credits. A truly wonderful experience.
